BLAZER

It's always a nice warm feeling when you see that someone has finally gotten it! Especially when it's your own child. I was pleasantly surprised when my Tiffanie, 25, came to me and showed me a black blazer she bought. What's so important about a blazer you may be asking. Well, as she said, I'd been telling her for years that she needs at least one black jacket in her wardrobe. It is something that she can wear when she needs to be professional for job interviews, or anytime she needs to be just a little business like in her appearance. It's also something that she can wear to church over a dress or skirt and blouse and look very nice without being overly dressed. Anyway, Tiffanie begins her graduate school internship this week and she went shopping for new clothes. I am so proud and happy that she saw the need, finally, for that blazer. It's not the blazer, per se, that has me particularly happy. It's the fact that she has finally seen some wisdom in something I said. As a mother, I have to admit that it seems as though my words have fallen on deaf ears as far as my kids are concerned. But I guess this blazer is proof that they are indeed listening!
